Principal / Associate Flood Risk Consultant

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Principal / Associate Flood Risk Consultant to join a main contractor based in Bury, Manchester. 

Your role as Principal / Associate Flood Risk Consultant will be to support the Head of Section to achieve our goals in support of the business plan with respect to the Flood Risk and Sustainable Drainage Assessment capability element of our business.

Key responsibilities for this Principal / Associate Flood Risk Consultant role:

· Bid/tender preparation and fee proposals for both existing and new clients.

· Liaison with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory/statutory authorities. Attendance at both client and regulatory meetings.

· Writing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.

· Research and business development of potential new clients and development of the Flood Risk and Drainage Team.

· Operating across a range of projects; work winning, budgetary control of project finances, liaison with wider team to carry out onsite work, site inspections and progress reporting.

· Training and development of junior staff. The company also support self-development and staff are encouraged and supported to apply for chartership in their field.

 

Experience required for this Principal / Associate Flood Risk Consultant role:

· Strong bachelor’s degree. An additional higher degree would also be an advantage.

· Well-established consultancy or industry experience in Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.

· Substantial experience in undertaking flood risk assessments in accordance with NPPF (and/or TAN 15).

· A good understanding of the workings of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities.

· Up-to-date knowledge of current planning policies and procedures and how these can be utilised to maximise the level of service offered to our clients whilst gaining required approvals.

· High motivation for this specific opportunity.

· Self-motivated team player with exceptional people skills.

· Ability to work under own initiative while fully co-ordinating with line manager’s requirements.

· Strong communication skills.

· Full UK driving licence.
