Job Role: Junior Estimator
Location: Nuneaton
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 D.O.E (Plus Car Allowance)
Navartis are working with a specialist Sub-Contractor who works in a range of sectors including Rail, Civils, Environmental Projects, Commercial in the search for a Junior Estimator.
No previous experience needed in the role however it is an advantage if you come from and engineering or civils background. Your attitude is everything for this role and what you put in will be given back to you. The current head of Estimating started as a trainee with no prior experience so you'll be in good hands to develop a strong career in a skills short market.
Key Duties for this role as Junior Estimator:
- Assist in Preparing Cost Estimates Support senior estimators in preparing accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Review Project Plans and Specifications Analyze architectural and engineering drawings to understand project requirements and scope.
- Conduct Quantity Take-Offs Measure and quantify materials needed using blueprints and construction drawings.
- Gather Pricing Information Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to support cost estimates.
- Input Data into Estimating Software Use estimating tools or spreadsheets to record and manage estimate data.
- Attend Site Visits and Pre-Bid Meetings Assist in site inspections and meetings to gain a better understanding of project scope and potential challenges.
- Assist with Tender Submissions Help prepare and submit bid documents, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Show enthusiasm for the position and a desire to learn.
Previous Experience needed for the Junior Estimator
- No previous experience is needed for this role within estimating.
- A good understanding of computer systems, CRM's & Office suite inc word and excel.
- A clear communicator able to speak with a rang of individuals both internally and externally.
- Able to listen attentively and accept feedback on the job.
- Open to new methodologies, ongoing training and development.
- Someone who is good with numbers and articulating datasets would find the role easier.
Package and Working
- Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
- Extras: Regular Staff Events, Car Allowance (TBC), Private Medical.
- Working Hours: Regular Working Day, Hybrid working available but Full time office during training period.
