The chosen candidate will oversee and assist with the procurement of materials for ongoing projects, ensuring adequate stock levels, and securing the best prices and quality. This presents an excellent opportunity for someone to expand their experience within a growing construction firm, which is currently engaged in significant projects across various sectors like Residnetial, Pharmaceuticals, and Commercial ventures. The position will be located at the company's headquarters in County Offaly.
Responsibilities for this Junior Buyer Role:
- Procure all necessary materials for ongoing projects promptly and economically.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop procurement schedules.
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers to fulfill requirements.
- Identify new potential suppliers as needed.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers to optimize costs.
- Coordinate logistics for goods and services required for projects.
- Assist in managing excess materials through reallocation or disposal.
- Generate internal reports.
- Propose enhancements to procurement systems and methods.
- Handle all reporting for the purchasing and procurement function.
- Monitor deliveries and returns.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in procurement within construction or manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with Sage software preferred but not required.
- Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in IT, numerical analysis, and data management, especially in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when necessary.
