Role Purpose:
Provide specialized expertise in the design of new Customer Billing, Fulfilment, and Assurance Solutions, Systems, and Architecture. Offer guidance on the Data Portfolio and new product introduction. Serve as an escalation point for all business areas and provide mentorship to team members, including training and knowledge sharing. Act as the Business Authority on the Design and Implementation of all Data Products.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive solution designs. Analyse existing systems, identify gaps, and propose innovative solutions based on BSS and OSS frameworks, such as those developed by the TM Forum.
Architecture Development: Define and refine Customer Billing, Fulfilment, and Assurance (BSS and OSS) architecture development and methodologies. Ensure alignment with industry best practices and standards. Create models, diagrams, and documentation to effectively communicate the architectural vision and technical solutions.
System Integration: Oversee the integration of Customer Billing, Fulfilment, and Assurance systems with various telecommunications components, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability between multiple systems.
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to development teams in implementing proposed solutions. Advise on technology selection, software development best practices, system optimization, and performance enhancements.
Solution Validation: Collaborate with IT Development teams to validate implemented solutions against defined requirements and architectural guidelines. Conduct tests, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders to understand their needs and align architectural solutions accordingly. Effectively communicate the benefits, challenges, and risks associated with different solution options.
Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and advancements in the telecommunications industry, particularly in Customer Billing, Fulfilment, and Assurance architecture. Participate in professional forums, conferences, and industry events to enhance knowledge and expertise continually.
Knowledge, Skills, and Expertise:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
Proven experience as a Solution Architect in the telecommunications sector.
Strong expertise in BSS and OSS systems architecture, with practical experience in relevant industry frameworks.
In-depth knowledge of telecom network elements, protocols, modules, and services.
Proficiency in architectural design tools, such as Visio, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or similar software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong leadership skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.
Experience driving the RFx process, supporting technical implementation of OSS/BSS solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry frameworks and security policies.
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for better stakeholder understanding.
