Transportation planners are responsible for developing transportation strategies that encompass the needs of all transport users including pedestrians and cyclists, and which consider environmental, efficiency and safety issues. A Transport Planner can work in both the private or public sector.

The Broadway Subway Project

The main part of construction on the 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line started in May 2021, while the scheduled completion date is in 2025. Six underground stations will tie 700m of elevated line and 5km of underground line together. The cost for the build is $2.83 billion. The provincial government will foot the bill, with contributions from the Government of Canada and the City of Vancouver.
