Location: Bad Kreuznach or Frankfurt/Main | Hybrid Work Available
Are you ready to take the next step in your scientific and regulatory career? We’re seeking a driven and detail-oriented leader to guide a specialist team focused on the physical-chemical and analytical evaluation of plant protection products. If you bring a strong background in chemistry, regulatory affairs, and scientific leadership, this is an opportunity to join a dynamic environment working at the intersection of science, regulation, and international market access.
The Role
As Team Lead for Phys-Chem and Analytics, you will head a small team of scientists and contribute to a larger interdisciplinary department of over 60 life science professionals. Your primary mission will be to manage and oversee regulatory dossiers and study programs related to plant protection products and active substances—including both chemical and microbial compounds.
You will be responsible for planning and reviewing technical work, mentoring your team, and delivering high-quality scientific and regulatory documentation for submissions in the EU, US, Japan, and other international markets.

Lead a team of scientific professionals, overseeing workload planning, document review, and ongoing training.
-
Prepare data gap analyses and regulatory dossiers related to identity, physico-chemical properties, and analytical methods of active substances and formulated products.
-
Coordinate technical equivalence assessments and compile corresponding submission packages.
-
Design, commission, and monitor regulatory studies such as 5-batch analyses and analytical method validations with both national and international contract laboratories.
-
Develop and implement regulatory strategies tailored to client goals across different jurisdictions.
-
Draft expert assessments and offer regulatory support throughout the registration lifecycle of plant protection products.
About You
-
Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in chemistry, food chemistry, or a related discipline.
-
Several years of practical experience in chemical analysis, ideally within a regulatory framework.
-
Strong understanding of EU regulatory requirements for plant protection products; familiarity with U.S. and Japanese regulations is an asset.
-
Proven ability to manage complex analytical tasks and coordinate study programs effectively.
-
Experience in scientific team leadership, including performance development and mentoring.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
-
Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary, multicultural environment.
