A successful consultancy specialising in professional services for the water, energy and environment Sectors is looking to hire a Director / Head of Commercial to lead and direct the Commercial services and resources within the business.

The Director / Head of Commercial role will involve establishing and agreeing a strategy with the Managing Director (MD) for sustainable growth of the Commercial Team and accountability for delivering all aspects of the strategy.

Main Responsibilities

- Accountable to the MD for dayto-day operations of the Commercial Team
- Ensuring resources are managed and fully utilised
- Commissions delivered to required quality, time and profit expectations
- Accountable for the performance of the Commercial Team
- Commissions are performing in line with current company key performance indicators (KPIs), objectives and expectations.
- Responsible for maintaining and growing the team through a combination of farming of existing opportunities and hunting new opportunities.
- Team grows in line with company expectations
- Responsible for ensuring that risks are identified, mitigated, and managed and that outputs meet quality standards

- To ensure that the company continuously develops and improves our service offering to our target market


Candidate

- Water industry or strong utilities background & must come from consultancy/client background not main contractor
- Demonstrable experience of leading commercial teams to deliver excellent service to customers
- Demonstrable experience of identifying, pursuing, securing and delivering new business
- Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels within customer organisations
- Strong network of industry contacts across customer, contractor and consultant organisations
- Deep sector knowledge of either water, energy or environment sectors

Essential: MRICS, MCInstCES or equivalent
Desirable: MBA, FRICS, FCInstCES or equivalent
