Service & Installation Engineer

Location: Remote /Field Based 

Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience and expertise.

Summary

The largest supplier of fluidpower products, systems and solutions across the UK is looking to take on a Service & Installations Engineer To maintain, repair installations and optimise customer fluidpower and/or electrical equipment in an effective and efficient manner, visiting customers sites as required and adhering to all health and safety rules.

Scope:

You will work directly on customers' sites, providing hands-on support for fluid power/electrical systems, undertaking maintenance, repairs, overhauls and troubleshooting issues, ensuring prompt resolution.

You will also undertake installations of fluid power systems, including compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, hydraulic power units, and cylinders, adhering to industry standards and customer specifications.

The role will require you to travel as required, responding to service calls and providing on-site assistance to customers in various locations. You must ensure strict adherence to all relevant Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) procedures, as well as health and safety requirements, to maintain a secure working environment at all times.

Key responsibilities:

- System Inspection and Assessment: Conducting regular on-site inspections of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Assessing the condition, performance, and efficiency of fluid power components.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Performing preventive maintenance on fluid power systems to ensure reliability. Executing timely repairs and replacements of faulty components to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing issues within fluid power systems. Implementing effective troubleshooting strategies to resolve operational problems.
- Optimization and Upgrades: Recommending and implementing improvements to enhance system performance. Collaborating with engineering teams to execute upgrades and modernization projects.
- Emergency Response: Being on-call to respond promptly to emergency breakdowns. Implementing quick and effective solutions to minimize production disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of system maintenance activities and repairs. Creating detailed reports on the condition and performance of fluid power systems.
- Training and Support: Providing on-site training to facility personnel on basic fluid power system operations. Offering technical support and guidance to maintenance teams as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that fluid power systems adhere to relevant safety and environmental regulations. Implementing changes to comply with any updated industry standards.
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory of spare parts and components for fluid power systems. Coordinating with procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Continuous Monitoring: Implementing monitoring systems to track the real-time performance of fluid power systems. Responding proactively to any anomalies or deviations from normal operating parameters.

Person Specification

- Industrial electrical experience / qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in maintaining, repairing, and installing fluid power systems, including compressed air and hydraulic components.
- Proven ability to work efficiently on customer sites, addressing fluid power issues, and providing effective solutions.
- Installation Skills: Experience in undertaking installations of various fluid power systems, following industry best practices.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed, with flexibility to respond to service calls promptly.
- CeTOP stage 1, First aid, CCNSG, Confined spaces
