Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for low-level design, build and execution of ServiceNow change the wider business.
  • Ownership of the creation and execution of automated software test suites in the ServiceNow platform.
  • Responsible for ensuring standardisation of automation approach is adhered to across IT DevOps services to the wider business.
  • Develop and improve upon the IT DevOps strategy for ServiceNow development, implementing changes on the platform and defining quality targets with IT DevOps management.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes and the mechanisms which facilitate efficient development, deployment and operation of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Bring telecoms-specific and platform-wide specialist in-depth knowledge about the ServiceNow platform and propagate throughout the wider delivery team.
  • Act as an interface into other IT DevOps teams and Business units where required. Understand system landscapes and tailor approach appropriately.
  • Keep abreast of current and upcoming technologies/methodologies that may benefit or impact the ServiceNow platform. Seek opportunities for adoption of relevant, tried and tested technologies. Actively promote change where overall business benefit and simplification can be identified.
  • Ensure that the focus of ServiceNow delivery team is maintained on the quality of solutions to ensure that development is brought to life efficiently and with an eye for simple operation.
  • Automate both functional and non-functional test cases for contribution to automated test suites in the ServiceNow platform.


Senior Software Engineer Requirements:

  • Experience in developing ServiceNow change and implementing in complex integrated application environments.
  • Experience in working with service management toolsets within a Telecoms setting.
  • Experience and knowledge of wider software tools, such as:
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment toolkits i.e. GIT variants, Jenkins etc.
  • Platform as a service development (Office 365, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Oracle Netsuite)
  • Experience with the Atlassian and Azure DevOps product suites.
  • Educated to degree level in Business Systems, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Mature knowledge of IT architecture in a high-growth IT / Telco business.
