- My Client is a leading North Yorkshire based Civils and Earthworks Contractor looking for an experienced Site Manager to work on projects in throughout the North East, including highways, 278 works, earthworks and remediation and a variety of infrastructure schemes upto £10m in value. Their clients include commercial and residential developers.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
- The Senior Site Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of their allocated projects and will be required to get involved from pre-construction stage including sub-contractor procurement, construction phase plan development, site set up, and ensuring all company health and safety, environmental and quality procedures are in place prior to and during construction.
- Responsibility for leading the Health and Safety of all site personnel across all activities, throughout the programs.
- Review method statement and risk assessment submitted by sub-contractors
- Coordinate site meetings between design team and subcontractors
- Anticipate, identify and address site issues; deal with all site matters
EXPERIENCE
- Construction qualified to HNC or related discipline with demonstrable experience with a Main Contractor or a large Sub-contractor. Earthworks or ground remediation experience.
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams.
- Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects.
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects.
- Relevant construction qualification
