Senior Quantity Surveyor - Data Centre Construction - Denmark

We are partnered with a globally recognised Contractor specialising in mission critical infrastructure seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team delivering Hyperscale Data Centre projects in Denmark.
This position sits within a major hyperscale data centre programme and offers the opportunity to work on one of Europe’s fastest growing sectors in construction. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of key commercial packages across the programme while working alongside senior project leadership.
This opportunity is IDEAL for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to continue to develop their career within Data Centre construction, this role provides exposure to large multi-phase developments and long-term project pipelines across Europe. Due to the nature of this project, prior experience working on Data Centre projects is required.
Role Overview - Senior Quantity Surveyor
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the full commercial management of major work packages within a live data centre construction programme in Denmark.
Working closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager and wider construction team, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will ensure projects are delivered successfully while maintaining strong commercial governance, managing risk and maximising project returns.
Key Responsibilities - Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Lead the commercial delivery of packages across major Data Centre Construction projects
- Support the project commercial strategy in collaboration with senior commercial leadership
- Manage procurement including tender preparation, subcontractor selection and contract placement
- Oversee project valuations, cost reporting, cash flow forecasting and financial reconciliation
- Manage variations and change control with appropriate documentation and supporting records
- Negotiate and agree subcontractor final accounts in line with project timelines
- Maintain project risk
- Monitor project changes and implement mitigation strategies where required
- Manage commercial claims and support dispute resolution processes
- Ensure contractual entitlements are maintained and protected
- Produce accurate commercial reports aligned with internal cost management procedures
- Monitor cost value reconciliations and financial performance across project packages
- Support pre-construction teams with commercial input during tender stages
- Provide regular commercial updates to project leadership teams
- Interpret and apply contract conditions including NEC and JCT forms of contract
- Draft contractual correspondence to clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Manage subcontract agreements, bonds, warranties and contractual obligations
- Provide commercial advice to project teams on contract compliance and risk
- Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors
- Provide guidance on measurement, reporting and commercial procedures
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across the commercial team
- Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors on commercial matters
- Support commercial negotiations to secure favourable project outcomes
- Maintain strong professional relationships to support future project delivery
Requirements - Essential
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Experience delivering projects within mission-critical, infrastructure or large commercial developments
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms
- Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management capability
- Experience working on data centre or complex technical construction projects
- EU Passport required
Desirable
- Chartered membership with RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional body
- Experience working on data centre or complex technical construction projects
