About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor you will take responsibility for the commercial delivery of power and substation projects across Scotland. You will manage costs, contracts and reporting, while supporting project teams to ensure schemes are completed on time and within budget. You will be given a high level of autonomy in this role and trusted to do what's needed to achieve results.
The role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in NEC3 contracts, keen to take on more responsibility and strengthen their career within the energy sector. This will lead to a long term position and opportunity to build a team in the future

The key requirements for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Manage commercial and contractual aspects of power and substation projects
- Administer contracts under NEC3 (knowledge of NEC4 an advantage)
- Produce and review cost reports, forecasts, and accurate financial records
- Lead subcontractor procurement, valuations and payments
- Identify, manage and agree variations and change control
- Work closely with clients and contractors to maintain positive project relationships
- Support and Mentor apprentices and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.

Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
- Strong NEC3 contract experience, with NEC4 exposure desirable
- Background in power, utilities or civil infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Proficient in cost management, forecasting and reporting
- Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Experience working specifically on substations or large energy infrastructure
- Chartered or working towards RICS membership
- Ability to drive value engineering and identify commercial improvements
