Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a major electrical set-out project. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive commercial professional with strong M&E experience to support a fast-paced and technically complex programme.

Key Information

  • Location: Aldermaston, Reading (occasional travel to London office required)

  • Contract Type: Outside IR35

  • Start Date: 1st December 2025

  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Clearance: Valid DBS and BPSS required

  • Experience: M&E background


Role Overview

You will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day commercial administration, measurement, forecasting, procurement tracking, and CE build-ups. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-focused, commercially aware, and confident working across multidisciplinary teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete detailed take-offs and measurements for compensation events and change valuations.

  • Maintain and update the Procurement Schedule, tracking lead times, risks, and commitments.

  • Produce and distribute the monthly two-month lookahead forecast, including expected commitments and value trends.

  • Support monthly payment applications, ensuring accurate Defined Cost substantiation.

  • Liaise closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Site Management teams to capture cost impacts and track site progress.

  • Provide accurate and timely inputs for CRFs and monthly commercial reporting.


About You

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within M&E projects with a minimum of 5 years' experience.

  • Strong understanding of commercial processes.

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
