Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a busy contractor and work on small – large scale highways schemes in and around Essex.

The company are market leaders in the Civil Engineering sector and your role as Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for looking after the highways packages in and around the Essex area.

They have a strong presence across the UK, bringing local people and solutions across a range of Highwayss infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

Key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs throughout its lifecycle.
  • Quantity Surveying: Prepare, review, and manage bills of quantities (BoQ) and other measurement documentation.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the contract administration process, ensuring compliance with either NEC 4 or NEC 3.
  • Tendering and Procurement: Lead the tendering and procurement process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and contract award recommendations.
  • Subcontractor Management, Risk Management, Change Management & Quality Assurance

Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Civil Engineering Background
  • Experience with NEC 4 & 3 contract management is Key
  • Highways and Public Realm Project experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in industry-standard software for quantity surveying and cost management.

Package offered for this Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Long Term Freelance Role
  • 6 month Rolling Contract (Permanent opportunity after 6 months)
  • £300-£350 Outside IR35 Limited
