Role: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Barking
Engagement : Ltd company outside IR35
Rate : £300 - £350 depending on experience
This is an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to expand their portfolio. My client is looking for someone with a strong Civils and M&E background, with the ideal candidate having a keen interest in commercial activities, facing challenges head on and a strong willingness to learn and progress.
The company is a renowned contractor who have a very exciting position for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to join a company with a brilliant track record and lots of works planned for the future.
Key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Assist in the preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets and cash flows
- Assist with procurement
- Conduct regular site visits monitoring cost control
- Collaborate closely with the project team
- Support further commercial team
- Manage commercial team below you (assistant QS and assistant contract manager)
- Identify project risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimise the commercial effect of said risk.
- Demonstratable use and understanding of standard forms of contract
- Detailed knowledge of NEC contracts
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of civils construction methodologies and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
-Experience with M&E
- Effective communication and negotiation ability
