An opportunity to join a leading tier 1 contractor within the rail industry, sitting within their Rail Infrastructure division based in either Chippenham or Newport, you will have the opportunity to support on multiple projects within their portfolio including digitalising and modernising the railway.


This is a unique opportunity to join a first in class digital programme for the rail sector, reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will have the responsibility of providing a professional and dedicated pre and post contract commercial management services to the new and developing team.

Key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role:


- Provide post contract commercial support for designated packaged of work including subcontract, materials and direct labour.
- Ensuring projects are successfully delivered with cost and time constraints.
- Be responsible for work package change control and management
- Assist with commercial management of various work packages as directed - including design, installation, test & commissioning, materials, telecoms, electrification, power, plant, civil engineering and permanent way.
- Provide contractual and commercial support to project managers and engineering teams.


Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role:


- Substantial Quantity Surveyor/contracts administrator experience working within a contractor side environment.
- Degree qualified or equivalent and hold or be working towards professional qualifications (RICS, LACCM or similar).
- Able to manage both direct labour and subcontract costs.
- Ability to manage commercial strategies
- Ability to estimate change/variations using various methods.

- Quantity Surveyor - £40,000 - £45,000
