Lead Quantity Surveyor - Data Centre

We are partnered with a global construction consultancy, who are seeking an experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor to take on a Senior Leadership position on a high profile hyperscale Data Centre project in Belgium.
This is a senior leadership role combining strategic client management, technical cost expertise and team leadership within a fast paced, international consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities - Lead Quantity Surveyor 

Client Leadership & Business Development

  • Act as the key account manager for strategic clients, building long term relationships based on trust and partnership
  • Use business development skills to secure repeat work and new client opportunities
  • Support Sales and Marketing initiatives and contribute to client proposals and bid submissions
  • Develop a strong understanding of client business models and identify market opportunities

Project & Commercial Leadership

  • Oversee multiple high value, complex projects across different time zones
  • Lead the delivery of cost management services from pre-construction through cost planning and procurement
  • Create and manage estimates, cost plans, QTOs and BoQs for major client developments
  • Provide strategic cost advice to clients 

Technical Cost Management

  • Demonstrate high proficiency in CostX and databooks (or equivalent platforms such as Planswift, Cubicost, Candy or similar)
  • Lead and review QTO production to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality
  • Develop and implement QAQC Plans / Manuals to maintain best-in-class quality assurance
  • Provide cost expertise across MEP packages, with a strong understanding of complex building services
  • Support procurement strategies, including exposure to global project procurement

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, manage and mentor large, multi disciplinary cost management teams
  • Foster high performance, professional development and engagement across the team
  • Deliver training and knowledge sharing to leaders and team members
  • Create a collaborative culture focused on quality, accountability and client value

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage multiple stakeholders across regions, disciplines and seniority levels
  • Provide clear, accurate reporting to clients and internal leadership
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high quality outputs aligned with client expectations

Experience Required - Lead Quantity Surveyor 

  • Minimum 10 years experience in cost management, with a strong focus on pre-construction works
  • Consultancy background preferred, delivering large scale construction projects
  • Proven experience on Data Centre and/or Life Sciences projects
  • At least 4 years’ hands on experience using CostX (or equivalent cost management software)
  • Strong leadership capability with experience building teams and leading a business unit or function
  • Excellent understanding of MEP cost management
  • Degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • Chartered status (or actively working towards chartership)
  • Strong commercial awareness and market understanding
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Location & Eligibility - Lead Quantity Surveyor 

  • Based in or willing to relocate to Farciennes, Belgium for a 2 year FTC
  • European passport holder
