6 Months fully remote FTC - Lead Infrastructure Architect
This a great opportunity to join a tier 1 telecom provider. The Lead Infrastructure Architect works closely alongside our Solution Architect and network system design teams on High Level Architecture through to low level design and implementation of new and existing operational networks / platforms / systems and services.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:
· Evaluate emerging technologies against existing and proposed best practice architecture to determine where they fill gaps and, overlap with existing solutions or extend capabilities
· Provide support and guidance to architects, engineering teams to ensure consistency and alignment to infrastructure architecture
· Oversee Senior and Systems Engineers across Networks/Systems and at times wider operations resources, required for completion of project activities, ensuring agreed operation, maintenance, security practices and standards are followed, and solutions are delivered to the required specification.
· When required, actively participate in build activities
· Provide specialist technical guidance and expertise to the business units and other shared functions
· Establish and manage relationships with suppliers, 3rd parties and contractors at the highest level
· Lead and collaborate with internal working groups
Knowledge, Skills, and Expertise:
· Previous extensive 'hands on' experience in Operation and Build of Networks / Systems / Platforms / Services and a good level of design experience, with a mindset of simplicity, automation, digitisation, customer and security.
· Ability to design and implement networks / platforms / services / systems relevant to the technology vertical and working knowledge of impacts and integrations into other technology verticals.
· Must establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge of current and future technologies in order to contribute to the identification of advances and improvements in Networking and Platforms, with associated security elements.
· Strong working knowledge and demonstratable experience of Redhat . CentOS, Ubuntu as well as tools inc. Ansible / Terraform
· Excellent networking knowledge and capability
· Global technical understanding covering all telco domains (applications, programming languages, hardware, virtualizations, IP, operating systems, etc.).
