Freight Operations Planner

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a candidate with experience in passenger or Freight operations to work supporting a successful rail business in replanning, rostering, diagramming etc of affected service delivery - mainly due to strike action.

The roles and responsibilities of the Operations Engineer role include:
- Create a list of alterations, highlighting what Drivers are doing what within the diagrams when there are changes
- Use the Driver diagrams to find Drivers for additional ECS moves to cover the alterations
- Balance the fleet / depots and produce an End of Day (EOD) plan to share with Rolling Stock / Fleet Planners whilst also protecting the maintenance plan
- Create any VSTPs required (these to be handed to Rolling Stock to be checked, signed and submitted)
- Create the TSDB document (this to be handed to STSM to be checked, signed and submitted)
- Insert required Special Stop Orders (SSO's) in conjunction with the revised contingency plan
- Amend a paper copy of the timetable to share with the desks

Experience for the Operations Engineer role include:
- Experience with passenger or freight operations
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience in replanning, rostering and diagramming affected rail services

The location of the Operations Engineer role:
- Based in the North
- Shift - 1400 - 2200 - may be flexible

The package of the Operations Engineer role:
- contract role
- open to flexible working
