Estimator - Residential

Job Description

Our client is a well-established Developer located in the Vaughan area specializing in the development of High rise & Town-home condominium projects.

They are seeking an estimator with experience working on such projects. They typically work on projects with values ranging from $20 Million - $80 Million.

The selected candidate would be offered a permanent position, and will be working on three new mixed use residential projects located around the Toronto and Richmond Hill areas.

Upon completion of that project, they will move on to other projects with the company.

Responsibilities of the Estimator:
- The estimator will complete take-offs and project estimates including cost of materials, labour and equipment required for projects based on quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.
- The estimator will maintain company tendering process, cost monitoring, reporting systems and procedures.
- Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects regarding tenders
- The estimator will participate in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, and project closing, as required.
- Conducting a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications, to determine overall project requirements and identifying any associated risk factors, including the monitoring of published addendums that may alter the original scope of the project.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Maintain a database of cost information including but not limited to cost feedback from bids.
- Complete Post Bid / Post Project Analysis completion and ensure that associated learning and communication takes place.
- Knowledge of industry standards, specifications, contract language/Terms and Conditions/Bonding etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree related to Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Engineering or related education.
- A minimum of five (5) years of High- & Low-rise estimating experience
- Proven experience performing take-offs and estimates on projects with values over $20 million.
- Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices.

Compensation Package offered for this Estimator Position:
- Annual base salary of $100,000 - $130,000
- 10% Yearly Bonus
