Estimator - Residential Construction

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a successful and expanding housebuilding team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in producing land appraisals and pricing residential developments of varying size and complexity.

We're looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives working both independently and collaboratively with land and commercial teams. You'll play a key role in maintaining a competitive cost database and supporting the business through accurate and timely cost planning.

Key requirements:

  • Experience within housebuilding or the wider construction industry

     

  • Ability to produce internal Bills of Quantities (BOQs)

     

  • Computer literate with strong Excel and measurement software skills

     

  • Highly organised and deadline-driven

     

  • Able to work on own initiative and prioritise effectively

     

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-focused mindset

     

  • Full UK driving licence

     

  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the role

     

 

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of roads, sewers, and infrastructure

     

  • Familiarity with COINS land module software

     

  • Experience using Bluebeam for measurement

     

 

Role responsibilities include:

  • Initial review of tender opportunities for accuracy and viability

     

  • Developing measurement and pricing strategies

     

  • Attending site visits with the pre-construction team

     

  • Preparing enquiry schedules alongside the buying team

     

  • Liaising with supply chain partners during the tender process

     

  • Performing internal take-offs and measurements using Bluebeam

     

  • Leading supply chain review meetings

     

  • Supporting value engineering and cost planning

     

  • Producing project pricing comparisons and documents for handover meetings

     

  • Completing site development appraisals and reviewing planning/S106 implications

     

  • Modelling financial scenarios to support acquisition and planning stages
