About the Role
As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for pricing civil engineering works and helping to secure new projects for the Scotland Projects Division. You'll prepare detailed budgets, cost advice and competitive tenders that reflect the company's commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
Working closely with the New Business Manager and senior leadership, you'll play a key role in driving the division's commercial strategy, maintaining strong client relationships and helping shape new business opportunities across the Scottish market.

The key requirements for this Estimator role are:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, budgets and tenders for civil engineering projects
- Ensure tenders are completed in line with company procedures and client expectations
- Manage and track all leads and opportunities through Salesforce, ensuring timely responses
- Develop tender strategies with the New Business Manager and Divisional Director
- Coordinate technical, commercial and operational input from internal teams during bid preparation
- Review drawings, specifications and site data to identify risk, opportunity and value engineering options
- Attend tender meetings and provide client-facing presentations when required
- Support pre-qualification submissions and bid documentation
- Work with commercial and engineering teams to ensure a seamless handover once projects are secured

Experience required for this Estimator role are:
- Proven background in estimating civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of tendering processes, commercial risk and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Confident presenting tenders and supporting business development activities
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Competent in estimating software and Microsoft Office packages

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Estimator role are:
- Experience in utilities, energy, or large-scale infrastructure schemes
- Previous involvement in new business development or framework tendering
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
