A leading regional housebuilder has an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join their Sheffield team. This role will take ownership of the engineering function across multiple developments, from initial land appraisal through to final adoptions.
You will play a key part in ensuring projects are technically sound, delivered on time and compliant with all regulations, while supporting the wider business plan.
Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager:
- Provide engineering input into land bids and appraisals, advising on risks and opportunities.
- Oversee technical approvals, utilities and infrastructure design to enable site starts.
- Manage and coordinate external consultants, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and within budget.
- Liaise with local authorities, planning bodies and statutory providers to keep projects on track.
- Lead the adoption process for roads, sewers, and other infrastructure.
- Support and mentor members of the engineering and technical team.
Requirements of the Engineering Manager:
- HNC/HND/BSc in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in residential development or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure, drainage and highways.
- Proven ability to manage consultants, approvals, and budgets.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive approach.
