I am working with a well established main contractor based in Maidstone is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their growing team. This role is suited to a Design Manager with a strong main contractor background and proven experience delivering projects across the industrial, retail, logistics and commercial sectors.
The Role
- Managing the design process across 2-3 live projects simultaneously
- Coordinating external consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
- Managing design programmes and information release schedules
- Identifying and mitigating design risks
- Ensuring compliance with planning conditions, building regulations and client requirements
- Leading and attending design meetings
- Providing input and support during pre-construction where required
This position will be split approximately 50 percent office based and 50 percent site based. The company also offers a half day finish on Fridays.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Design Manager working for a main contractor
- Experience delivering industrial, retail, logistics or commercial schemes
- Strong technical knowledge of construction and detailing
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Proactive and solution-focused approach
