Construction Lead Supervisor – Ground Works

An international construction consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Construction Lead Supervisor to support a major commercial construction project in Belgium. This opportunity is well suited to a Construction Lead Supervisor with strong ground works expertise who is comfortable operating on large, complex sites alongside multidisciplinary project teams.
Role Overview
The Construction Lead Supervisor will take full responsibility for the delivery and coordination of all ground works packages on site. Acting as the primary point of contact for ground works activities, the Construction Lead Supervisor will ensure all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role is critical to the successful early-stage delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities

The Construction Lead Supervisor will oversee excavation, foundations, drainage systems, and underground utilities installation.

Coordinate subcontractors and ground works teams, ensuring alignment with construction schedules and site safety standards.

Monitor quality control across all ground works, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and local regulations.

Enforce health and safety procedures, carrying out regular inspections and proactively managing site risks.

Track daily progress, identify potential delays or issues, and report updates to senior project management.

Act as a liaison between the Construction Lead Supervisor, engineers, consultants, and client representatives to ensure effective site communication.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, materials usage, and daily site activities.

Ensure environmental compliance and adherence to sustainability objectives throughout all ground works phases.
Candidate Profile

Proven experience working as a Construction Lead Supervisor on large-scale commercial construction projects.

Strong technical understanding of ground works, geotechnical engineering, excavation, and underground services.

Familiarity with Belgian construction regulations, health & safety legislation, and environmental standards.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site teams.

Fluent in English; French and/or Dutch is highly advantageous.

Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Health and safety certifications (e.g. VCA, OSHA) preferred
