Commercial Project Manager – Major Energy Infrastructure Project

I am looking for a Commercial Project Manager to be a part of Large-scale energy storage and pumped-storage facilities play a critical role in maintaining grid stability, balancing renewable generation, and restoring power systems in emergency situations. Using advanced technologies and highly skilled teams, these facilities enable the rapid storage and dispatch of electricity, supporting the integration of wind and solar energy into the grid.

To support a major modernization and expansion program for a group of pumped-storage power plants, we are seeking a Commercial Project Manager to join the finance function. The role focuses on the commercial and financial management of a high-value infrastructure investment, with a final investment decision targeted for the first half of 2027. You will oversee all finance-related project streams and ensure robust commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.


Your Role – Diverse and Impactful Responsibilities

You will lead and coordinate all commercial and financial activities required to prepare a sound business case for the investment decision, including:

  • Development and oversight of project financial models and profitability analyses

  • Project controlling, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

  • Commercial management of supplier contracts and negotiations, including guarantees and securities

  • Structuring and securing project financing in line with shareholder requirements

  • Proactive risk and opportunity management using a structured risk register and ongoing contingency reviews

  • Management of commodity-related risks

  • Building and maintaining effective collaboration across the project organization, internal departments, and shareholder representatives

  • Preparation and presentation of financial reports and decision papers for steering committees

  • Design and implementation of an appropriate project governance framework

  • Embedding best practices and incorporating lessons learned throughout the project


Your Profile

  • Degree in economics, industrial engineering, business administration, or a comparable field

  • Several years of relevant experience in financial modelling, valuation, project controlling, and/or strategic procurement

  • Proven track record in commercial management of large-scale infrastructure or capital investment projects

  • Initial leadership experience or strong potential to take on leadership responsibilities

  • Structured, reliable, and results-oriented working style

  • Strong analytical capabilities combined with clear and persuasive communication skills

  • Confident presentation style, including engagement with senior stakeholders and larger audiences

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach
