Civil Engineer (CRE) - Team Lead

Location: Manchester

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 dependant on experience plus package

Summary


An award-winning multi-disciplinary civil engineering company with an excellent reputation for delivering major signalling and OLE infrastructure projects nationally is looking to take on a Senior Level Project Engineer to undertake all aspects of engineering functions within the business delivering quality and competitive structures and foundations projects within the Railway environment.


Key Accountabilities will include;


- Acting as the technical lead for the business
- Undertake engineering integration for works during the design and construction periods.
- Identify key on site risks during design reviews and construction reviews.
- Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
- Undertake value engineering exercises during design and constructability reviews.
- Ensure any site engineers are competent in their roles and responsibilities and identify additional training requirements as necessary.
- Accountability for the Setting out, levelling and surveying of all Lundy site.
- Ensure on site verification of setting out takes place and is recorded.
- Provide input into design meetings and construction meetings on a periodic basis.
- Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
- Making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
- Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site in line with ITP process.
- Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
- Efficient deployment of company resource with a good understanding of output and project efficiencies, task identification and leadership
- Provide leadership and direction to individuals assigned to ensure the safe and efficient discharge of the works to specification and to a good standard of quality.
- Ensure Right First-Time approach to all work. Zero defects.
- Maintain professional approach positively reflecting the image of the company
- Ensure works are carried out in a safe manner adhering to site specific Risk Assessment & Method Statements
- Responsible for personnel welfare and adherence to CDM requirements
- Deliver / Attend inductions / toolbox talks / all appropriate briefings
- Support the pricing of tenders by defining programmes, developing methodologies and estimating labour, equipment and material requirements

Skills/Expertise Required 

- Education to HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent suitable experience
- Experience of undertaking CRE Duties
- Proven multidisciplinary technical railway civil engineering expereince 
- Driving Licence
- PTS
- COSS
- Installation of structural steel installation and foundations experience
- Knowledge of safety, quality and environmental procedures

Desirable

- CAD experience
- Experience of NEC & ICE conditions of contract
