Business Development Manager - Defence

An engineering-led global infrastructure group across the UK Defence Infrastructure and associated Construction Market Sectors is looking to hire a skilled and motivated Business Development Manager to establish their brand across the UK Defence Infrastructure market.

You will be required to establish and maintain regular dialogue with new and existing customers and identify assess and cultivate new client leads/opportunities that fit with the overall business strategy and market sectors to enable the company to grow in line with the business plan.

The role requires you to attend sector pipeline meetings; ensure preparedness to discuss current and future opportunities and maintain industry and competitor intelligence, recording in Salesforce or other database.

Business Development Manager Accounabilities

- Supporting the defence sector director in the development and execution of the business strategy for establishing routes to market in the public sector, and in the private sector with defence and dual-use organisations.
- Engage with existing, new and potential clients to promote capabilities and abilities of the business and wider Group, as directed by the defence sector director.
- Attend sector pipeline meetings; ensure preparedness to discuss current and future opportunities.
- Maintain industry and competitor intelligence, recording in Salesforce or other database.
- Prepare initial Bid Strategy assessment documents for defence sector director.
- Support preparation of Expression of Interest (EOI) and Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) produced by Submissions Team.
- Attend tender kick off meetings as directed by defence sector director.

What we are looking for

- Candidates who have a minimum of 5 years UK Defence or Government experience (i.e. working in the home office, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Civil Service in and around Whitehall (MOD headquarters experience would be beneficial)
- Knowledge of the UK construction market and of relevant procurement legislation and MOD procurement processes.
- Strong presentation and client communication skills

Salary /Benefits

Competitive salary or between £80,000 - £90,000 and benefits (including car allowance of £6325, pension and health care plan, accommodation allowance (if outside of a reasonable commuting distance) and access to outstanding training and career opportunities.
