Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Bristol (office-based with flexibility, covering sites within 1 hour of Bristol)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (negotiable) + Annual Bonus + Car/Allowance + Benefits

The Opportunity

We're seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a successful residential developer in their Bristol office. This is an exciting opportunity to build your career within a supportive commercial team, working alongside experienced surveyors on a range of housing developments across the South West.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll gain hands-on exposure to cost management, valuations, and subcontractor procurement while being supported with structured training and mentorship. This role offers the perfect platform for someone looking to progress towards Quantity Surveyor and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing

Assisting with the preparation of budgets, cost plans, and financial reports

Supporting in subcontractor procurement and managing tender enquiries

Helping with valuations, variations, and payments

Liaising with site teams, consultants, and contractors on project progress

Maintaining accurate records and documentation

Gaining experience across the full commercial lifecycle of projects

Working closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor for day-to-day mentorship

What We're Looking For

HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying (or working towards it)

Previous experience in a commercial role within construction (placement, trainee, or junior level considered)

Strong numerical and IT skills

Good communication and organisation skills

Eagerness to learn, develop, and progress in a commercial career

Residential or housing experience advantageous, but not essential
