Assistant Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependant on expereince plus package

Company Information:

A multi-disciplinary railway turnkey business, capable of undertaking a wide variety of rail projects, from solution recommendations to complete design and construction is looking to hire a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

this role would suit someone with a good understanding of on site safety in the rail / construction sectors and who is interested in progressing their career in health & safety.

Development and training will be provided for the right candidate.

Interested in hearing from candidates with:

  • A keen interest in Health and Safety.
  • Site Safety experience in the rail sector.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards
  • Network Rail experience would be desirable
  • Fluent in Microsoft packages
  • Hold any HSQE qualifications.
  • A proven track record of developing, implementing, and integrating safety procedures.

Desirable

  • An understanding of Management systems (ISO9001. ISO18001, ISO 14001 etc)
  • Degree in a relevant subject.

Role Information.

  • Assist the H&S manager in complying with all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality related legislation.
  • Actively participate and work as part of a team providing environmental support and advice as required.
  • Undertake internal audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards, managing and recording non- conformances as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with and coordinate/facilitate the external audit of management systems, ISO 9001 - Quality Management System, ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 - Health & Safety Management System
  • Assist with the achievement and maintenance of other accreditations in line with business requirements.
  • Delivery of safety, and behavioural safety, awareness including training, briefing and coaching as required
  • Attend meetings, workshops and briefings with professional clients and external bodies as required.
  • Maintain the SHEQ element IT systems
  • Coordinate and undertake the reporting, recording and investigation of all accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Maintenance of documentation required for accreditation of all company standards
