​What is a Buyer?

The role of a Buyer is to research and purchase materials, supplies and equipment for the business and project they are working on. The role of a Buyer will often require you to be able to negotiate with suppliers to ensure you are getting the best price possible. As a Buyer you will also be responsible for updating inventory and ensuring that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.

Key skills to be successful as a Buyer will include:

 

  • Negotiation

  • Communication

  • Financial and accounting knowledge

  • Supply chain management and logistics

  • IT and stock management software knowledge

What are the typical daily duties for a Buyer Manager?

Schützengarten residential area

Construction work on the new-build project Schützengarten commenced, which will include a residential area with 479 flats, green spaces, a children’s play area and a neighbourhood park. This project is estimated to be completed in spring 2024.

The Military Museum in Dresden

Dresden witnessed another important mark on its timeline with the construction of the Military History Museum. Designed by US-based architects Studio Daniel Libeskind, this project was estimated to cost in the region of €48m.
