​Located at the confluence of the Rhine and the Neckar, Mannheim is Germany’s 21st largest city and has an estimated population of 309,119. Mannheim covers an approximate area of 55.97 square miles and is the one of only two cities that borders two other federal states. Mannheim has seen numerous large scale construction projects over the past couple of years and has multiple large constructions projects in the pipeline, including;

Mannheim – Karlsruhe upgrade expanded

Plans to upgrade the Molzau – Graben-Neudorf – Karlsruhe line in Baden-Württemberg have been extended. German Rail (DB) are now investigating other potential enhancements to the Mannheim – Karlsruhe corridor as part of the project.

New Urban Quarter at the Central Station - Mannheim 21

Development of the new urban quarter at the main station will see one of the most important inner-city projects of the coming years. Giving a new lease of life to facilities that are already deserted or are due to become so in the foreseeable future.  The plan is to create a lively quarter whose many facilities are appealing and boast a high power of attraction.
