Temporary Works Designer

We are recruiting for a Temporary Works Designer with a strong background of high-profile civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is to join my clients in-house design team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, multi-disciplinary projects with one of the most respected names in the industry, predominantly Civils works.

As a Temporary Works Designer, you will be responsible for developing safe, efficient, and compliant temporary works solutions to support a range of civil engineering activities - from earthworks and deep excavations to falsework, formwork, structural support, and working on projects spanning across all areas of Civils.

You will work closely with the construction and engineering teams from tender through to delivery, ensuring all temporary works designs are integrated with the permanent works and construction methods.
Also if you have some exposure to any Temporary works coordination roles, or temporary works operational, this would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage temporary works designs in accordance with relevant standards.
Liaise with site teams, engineers, and external designers to ensure designs meet practical and project-specific requirements.
Prepare design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation for temporary works schemes.
Provide design checks and approvals in line with company procedures and TW management systems.
Support the Temporary Works Coordinator, and contribute to risk assessments and method statements

About You
Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
Ideally Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE, IStructE, etc.).
Proven experience in temporary works design within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

This wil be a hybrid role, whereby the candidate can work from the clients either Leeds, Warringtion or Birmingham offices 3 days a week, and 2 at home. Ideally the suitable and successful candidat will live within 1.5 hours from one of these offices.
