Site Superintendent

Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to join their team out in Hamilton. As the High-Rise Construction Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for direct leadership and management of high-rise construction sites and site personnel, including the daily coordination and supervision of resources and materials while promoting an engaged and accountable workforce.

The Site Superintendent will be completing project requirements as per plan details and specifications, on time and on budget, in cooperation with the Project Management team.


This role requires individuals to work day shifts. Night shifts may be required occasionally.

Duties and responsibilities for the Site Superintendent:

  • Ensures that projects are constructed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, applicable building codes, and quality control standards
  • Drives the construction schedule collectively with the project team; ensuring milestones and completion
  • Strategically plans and implements manpower levels and material quantities; ensures proper equipment and trades are available as required
  • Leads project meetings with all stakeholders (Owners, Architects, Consultants, Engineers, internal project teams, and Government officials) to monitor and support the project's ongoing progression
  • Oversees project reporting that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections, and other relevant information including the completion of daily logs in Procore Software
  • Liaison with project manager, project coordinators, and support staff as required.
  • The Site Superintendent will be responsible for the implementation and overall enforcement of health and safety programs and quality control processes on site.


Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of experience supervising and managing labour resources and materials on mid/high-rise residential work sites
  • Journeyman Carpenter/CET or the equivalent with mid/high-rise residential construction experience
  • Proven experience handling projects valued up to $10 Million
  • Good understanding of building drawings and specifications
  • Ability to provide simultaneous support for needs across multiple projects in varying phases
