Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Rail & Infrastructure Project

Location: London (West / North West London)
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + car allowance
Contract Type: Permanent | Full-time (40 hours, Monday–Friday)


Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a major UK infrastructure programme.

Our client is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a strong presence across the UK, delivering complex projects across rail, highways and strategic infrastructure. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a major NEC civils project based in London, on one of the UK’s most high-profile rail developments.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take commercial responsibility for key work packages on a long-term project that plays a vital role in the future of UK rail and low-carbon transport infrastructure.


Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)

  • Experience on major rail or large civils projects (preferred)

  • Background working for a main contractor or large JV

  • Excellent commercial, financial and communication skills

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar

  • Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent) desirable


Duties include:

  • Commercial management of key project packages under NEC contracts

  • Administering main and subcontract NEC agreements

  • Managing cost control, valuations and change management

  • Preparing, negotiating and agreeing interim and final accounts

  • Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts and CVRs

  • Supporting procurement and subcontractor management activities

  • Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and client representatives

  • Ensuring contractual compliance and commercial best practice throughout the project lifecycle
