Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

I have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team for our Yorkshire Water frameworks.

Outside IR35
3 days office 2 home most likely, office based in Bradford.

The Role:
Reporting to the commercial manager, you will be responsible for the procurement of sub-contractors, preparation and submission of external applications for payment, agreement of Client variations, valuation and agreement of sub-contractor accounts. You will also assist with the preparation of CVR reports, and the submission of monthly profit and loss reports.

The main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
· Administration of NEC based framework contracts
· Providing commercial assurance
· Building strong relationships with client team
· Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
· Cost capture, forecasting and updating client estimating systems
· Procurement and management of supply chain
· Ensuring compliance with internal governance and processes
· Cost value reporting
· Change identification and management
· Presentation of Commercial and Post-Contract Reviews
· Cash collection
· Agreement of final accounts
· Supervision and mentoring other people in the team
· Attending meetings and collaborative workshops

The Person:
The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience in a similar senior role and ideally have a BSc Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent. You will hold a current industry competence card e.g., CSCS or EUSR (Management or Professional). It is essential that you have good knowledge of administering NEC based large projects contracts and experience in working for utility companies would be preferable. You will be commercially astute, methodical and have a desire to deliver results. It goes without saying you will have excellent communication skills and are confident in using communication to negotiate and influence at all levels.
