Senior Quantity Surveyor - Birmingham
Tier 1 Main Contractor
Salary (Dependant on experience) + Car/Car Allowance + Package
I am currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a large scale infrastructure project. This NEC 4 project is in their early phase with plenty of continuity left to run on it. This would be working for a Specialist civils contractor which is growing at a very fast pace which would guarantee continuity of works and maximising progression potential.
Key points:
- Oversee and manage project, ensuring adherence to programme schedules and budgets.
- Lead the commercial management of NEC 4 contracts, including forecasting, cost reporting, and contract administration.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and alignment with client expectations.
- Drive cost efficiency through value engineering and effective procurement strategies.
- Ensure robust risk management and contractual compliance across all projects.
- Mentor and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Report on project performance and provide strategic commercial insights to senior leadership.
- Person Specification
- Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with NEC 4 contracts option C
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets particularly within sub contractor delivery
- Strong knowledge of cost management, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (RICS or CIOB accreditation is desirable).
The ideal candidate:
- Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with NEC 4 contracts option C
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets particularly within sub contractor delivery
- Strong knowledge of cost management, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
Relevant Degree / Higher, Advanced or Foundation qualification or to have or working towards Professional Qualification relevant to the role
