Senior Project Manager – Rail Infrastructure
Locations: Hamburg
Join a forward-looking team working on complex rail infrastructure initiatives that contribute to the future of sustainable transportation. In this role, you will lead demanding projects across various phases of planning and delivery. A strong academic background in civil, industrial, or railway engineering (or a comparable discipline), combined with substantial experience managing infrastructure projects, is essential.
Your Role

Lead and coordinate sophisticated rail infrastructure projects, including new builds, upgrades, and expansions, covering service phases 1–7 in accordance with HOAI

Ensure projects are delivered successfully with regard to budget, schedule, quality, and regulatory compliance

Take technical and commercial responsibility for assigned projects

Manage and guide interdisciplinary project teams or joint ventures

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, participating in coordination meetings and addressing technical matters

Present project outcomes internally and to external stakeholders, including public forums
-
Oversee interface coordination among multiple parties and across different construction stages

Implement quality management processes and ensure accurate documentation of planning progress and results

Coordinate and review contributions from internal departments and external partners

Support proposal development and contribute to winning new assignments
Your Profile
-
Degree in civil engineering, industrial engineering, railway engineering, or a related field
-
Many years of experience managing railway infrastructure projects
-
In-depth understanding of German contractual, fee, and regulatory frameworks (including BGB, HOAI, VOB, and applicable technical standards)

Confident use of project management and planning tools such as MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, iTWO, Jira, and Lean/Last Planner methods

Strong commercial awareness and solution-oriented mindset

Enjoyment of complex challenges and cross-disciplinary collaboration

Excellent communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
