About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll take a leading role in delivering electrical and electronic engineering solutions across a wide range of rolling stock, including passenger, freight, metro and light rail vehicles.
You'll provide consultancy support across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to integration, assurance, testing and entry into service. Alongside hands-on technical delivery, you'll manage work packages, mentor engineers and help position the business as a trusted technical partner to existing and new clients.
This is a role for someone who enjoys technical challenge, responsibility and influence, and wants to play a key part in shaping high-impact rail projects. It is essential for this role that you have an understanding of system/software integration.

Key requirements:
-    Lead delivery of electrical systems engineering and integration activities across rolling stock projects
-    Manage integration of train control and protection systems and vehicle electrical modifications
-    Produce and review technical outputs including schematics, calculations, FMEAs, hazard logs, test plans and technical reports
-    Lead and participate in design reviews, verification and validation activities
-    Oversee static and dynamic testing, diagnostics, fault finding and readiness for service
-    Define and validate requirements and demonstrate compliance with relevant UK and EU rail standards
-    Support obsolescence management, maintenance extensions and modification programmes
-    Manage work packages to agreed time, cost and quality targets
-    Contribute to bid preparation, cost estimating and technical proposals
-    Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to engineers and graduates

Experience required:
-    Proven experience delivering electrical systems integration and vehicle modifications
-    Knowledge of railway standards, legislation and approvals processes
-    Experience producing design packs including risk assessments and modification procedures
-    Background in fault investigation, failure analysis and rectification
-    Experience managing work packages and contributing to project budgets and estimates
-    Track record of working on complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Electrical Engineer role are:
-    Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership via IET or equivalent
-    Familiarity with CAD and wiring design tools and analysis packages
-    Experience supporting ITT preparation and bid responses
-    Knowledge of FMCEA techniques and vehicle maintenance optimisation strategies
-    Ability to guide and review work of other engineers and support professional development
