Quantity Surveyor – Residential Housing (New Build Social Housing)

A well-established construction company based in Peterborough, specialising in new build social housing, is seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The successful candidate will manage 2–3 live housing sites, ranging from 20 to 100 units, and play a key role in delivering high-quality homes for local communities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with housing experience who is keen to take on more responsibility and expand their skills beyond the traditional QS remit.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee full Quantity Surveying duties across multiple residential sites

Tendering and procurement of subcontractor packages

Cost reporting, monthly valuations, and final account settlements

Support and manage the completion of design details (training provided)

Assist with discharging planning conditions (training provided)

Regular travel to project sites and coordination with project teams, consultants, and stakeholders
Ideal Candidate Profile

Proven experience in residential construction, ideally within the housing sector

Strong understanding of commercial processes and cost control

Able to manage multiple projects and priorities

Willingness to learn non-traditional QS duties
