Salary (DOE) + Car/Company car + Package

I am currently recruiting for a number of Assistant/Quantity/Senior Quantity Surveyors for a well established Main Contractor based in the Leeds & North East areas. These roles will cover a number of buoyant civils sectors including highways/public realm and utilities. These roles also do come with hybrid working so as well as a huge platform, you will also get option for flexibility.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of Interim Valuations and Final Accounts
  • Procurement of sub-contractors in line with target programme and company policy requirements for competency of sub-contractors, recommendations, orders, warranties.
  • Contract administration of sub-contracts
  • Timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors applications
  • Final Account agreement of sub-contract accounts
  • Measurement of quantities both on site and from drawings
  • Timely and accurate evaluation of variations/provisional sum expenditure and monitoring of the same
  • Weekly direct labour & plant subcontractor payments
  • Accurate production of internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and cost value reconciliations in line with the Commercial reporting timetable
  • Working closely with the Site Manager and rest of delivery team to monitor progress and its effect on margin and producing joint monthly preliminaries budgets
  • Ensuring good quality & accurate records are kept and maintained
  • Delay identification/notification/ in tandem with Quantity Surveying line manager
  • Take off & preparation of bills of quantities for estimating department for tender submissions
  • Achieving deadlines
  • Accuracy
  • Improving profit margin

The ideal candidate:

  • To have had ownership of projects in civils/infrastructure sectors (water/highways/roads preference)
  • To have a degree or relevant qualification within Quantity Surveying
  • To have extensive understanding or experience within NEC
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately
  • Able to produce accurate work within required deadlines
  • Has a “can do/ will do” attitude
  • Is punctual and reliable
