Quantity Surveyor
North East
Salary (DOE) + Car/Company car + Package
I am currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a well established Main Contractor based in the North East area. These roles will cover a number of buoyant civils sectors including highways/public realm and utilities. These roles also do come with hybrid working so as well as a huge platform, you will also get option for flexibility.
Key Accountabilities:
- Preparation of Interim Valuations and Final Accounts
- Procurement of sub-contractors in line with target programme and company policy requirements for competency of sub-contractors, recommendations, orders, warranties.
- Contract administration of sub-contracts
- Timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors applications
- Final Account agreement of sub-contract accounts
- Measurement of quantities both on site and from drawings
- Timely and accurate evaluation of variations/provisional sum expenditure and monitoring of the same
- Weekly direct labour & plant subcontractor payments
- Accurate production of internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and cost value reconciliations in line with the Commercial reporting timetable
- Working closely with the Site Manager and rest of delivery team to monitor progress and its effect on margin and producing joint monthly preliminaries budgets
- Ensuring good quality & accurate records are kept and maintained
- Delay identification/notification/ in tandem with Quantity Surveying line manager
- Take off & preparation of bills of quantities for estimating department for tender submissions

The ideal candidate:
- To have had ownership of projects in civils/infrastructure sectors (water/highways/roads preference)
- To have a degree or relevant qualification within Quantity Surveying
- To have extensive understanding or experience within NEC
- Excellent telephone skills
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately
- Able to produce accurate work within required deadlines
- Has a “can do/ will do” attitude
- Is punctual and reliable
