Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of the fastest growing consultancies within the construction sector. Mainly focusing on high valued projects of up to £50m in total value, they specialize in building high end high rise commercial buildings, private residential buildings, and education builds.
Due to the recent success of the business, they are looking to expand their commercial team. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who shares the same desire to progress their careers and further develop within the company. This will be rewarded as they are a company who are known to provide clear progression schemes to their employees.

Key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Management of clients, main contractors, and specialist contractors.
Executing various forms of JCT, NEC and/or Framework main contracts.
- Preparation and submission of monthly cost reporting and/or cost value reconciliation reports.
- Preparation and submission of monthly valuation assessments and payment notice certificates in accordance with the form of contract and Construction Act.
- Value, assess and manage change control procedures and value both risk and opportunities.
- Review and aid cash forecasts which align construction programmes.
- Administration of contracts, including notices and procedures.
- Strong document management and presentation skills
- Commercial willingness to learn the contract forms.
- Keen to learn and understand technical requirements and construction technology.
- Ability to work collectively within the commercial team and wider professional team.
Experience using digital measuring software such as Bluebeam, Costx, Causeway or similar.

Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills,
- Experience in construction or Civil engineering background is desirable.
- Experience in negotiating costs with vendors and contractors
- Good organisational skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced within either a construction or Civil engineering sector.
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Science or Construction management or in another related field.
- Chartered membership status or working towards professional membership (Desirable)
