Project Planner

Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Planner to join my client who provides sophisticated communication, security and surveillance systems for a number of Europe’s leading organisations and specialises in large infrastructure projects. Their total solution includes unique design and in-house software development capabilities, integration, delivery and accreditation of bespoke systems to these customers with specialist security requirements.

Your role as Project Planner will be to assist the project teams in managing projects ensuring delivery against strict timescales and within budget. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, organised person to support with a long-term continuous programme of work.

Key responsibilities for this Project Planner role:

  • You will be responsible for the preparation of project programs and updating throughout the project lifetime

  • Liaise with site teams and delivery partner to capture actual progress and forecast future works

  • Assist the site, project and commercial teams with reports on agreed dates, budgets, forecasting, cost and any variations to these

  • Create impacted and mitigated programmes to assist with the issue and acceptance of early warning notices and to assist with internal migration strategies

  • Prepare as built programs, detailing critical path and variations to works

  • Prepare and monitor the work plan ensuring compatibility with available resources, revising as required to meet timetable, program and resource variations

  • Conduct and attend meetings with customers on site as needed

Experience required for this Project Planner role:

  • Experience in a similar role using Primavera P6 and MS projects is essential

  • Have knowledge and understanding of all aspects of project control and how they interact

  • Have the ability to review and understand contractors detailed construction programmes and spend profiles

  • Experience in being on site, relating site progress to the agreed baseline schedule

  • Understand schedule requirements in line with NEC contract

  • Be experienced in integrating sub-contractor schedules in a master management schedule

Package offered for this Project Planner role:

  • Competitive Salary up to £55,000 ( will consider a higher salary for a Senior Project Planner)
