Project Manager – Structural Engineering (Underground & Foundation Structures)
Locations: Hamburg

Your Responsibilities

As a Project Manager within structural engineering, you will take ownership of challenging infrastructure projects, particularly in the field of underground and foundation structures. Your role will include:

  • Leading and coordinating structural engineering projects, ensuring smooth collaboration with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineering team members throughout all project phases
  • Overseeing the design and execution of structures such as tunnels, trough systems, retaining structures, and foundation solutions
  • Supporting business development activities, including proposal preparation and tender submissions
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards

Your Profile

You bring both technical expertise and leadership experience in structural engineering:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Dipl.-Ing. or M.Sc.), ideally specializing in structural engineering or geotechnics
  • Around 10 years of professional experience in the design and delivery of civil engineering structures
  • Proven experience with underground structures, retaining systems, or specialist foundation engineering is highly advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively
  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Fluent German and good command of English
  • Interest in sustainable construction practices and digital engineering methods such as BIM

Your Working Environment

You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team engaged in a diverse range of infrastructure projects, primarily across Northern Germany. The focus lies on the design of tunnels, retaining structures, and other complex civil engineering works, with additional exposure to hydraulic structures such as quay walls and lock systems.
