Our client is a growing multi-utility contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the North West and wider UK. The business operates across a range of sectors including aviation, water and heavy civil engineering, supporting both framework and standalone project delivery.

With a strong pipeline of secured work including major airport projects, water frameworks and infrastructure schemes, the company continues to expand its operational team to support sustained growth. The organisation offers a hands-on, collaborative environment typical of a well-established SME, where individuals are given the autonomy to take ownership of projects while being supported by an experienced leadership team.

About the Role

As Project Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of multi-utility and civil engineering projects across a varied portfolio including airport works, water frameworks, heavy civils schemes and structural bridge works.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to delivery, working closely with site teams and taking full ownership of project performance from inception through to completion.

You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

The key requirements for this Project Manager role are:

• Manage projects from initial planning through to successful delivery and handover
• Oversee site teams and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
• Monitor programme, cost and quality performance across multiple projects
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with client requirements and contractual obligations
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Support commercial teams with cost control, reporting and forecasting
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
• Provide leadership and direction to site teams and project engineers

Experience required for this Project Manager role are:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects
• Experience working across multi-utility, water or heavy civils projects
• Strong understanding of project delivery within an SME or contractor environment
• Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Project Manager role are:

• Experience working on airport or aviation projects
• Experience working on water frameworks
• Background progressing from a hands-on or site-based role
• Knowledge of NEC contracts or similar
