Salary: Up to £55,000

Summary

A leading rail infrastructure contractor, delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality works across track, electrification, civils, and structural inspection projects are looking for a for an experienced Project Manager to join their team in London delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects across the UK rail network.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of STE4 structural inspection contracts across the UK rail network.

You’ll manage all aspects of project delivery — including planning, budgets, resources, and performance — ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Network Rail standards.

The key responsibilities for the Project Manager role are:

  • Lead the delivery of STE4 structural inspection projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure efficient and safe project delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors to maintain clear communication and effective collaboration.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation, reports, and forecasts.
  • Oversee project delivery teams, providing leadership and direction to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Network Rail and company standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the project delivery function.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence within the team.

Experience & Skills required for the Project Manager role are:

  • Proven experience managing rail infrastructure or inspection projects.
  • Strong understanding of Network Rail standards
  • Understanding of STE4 inspection processes (highly desirable)
  • Excellent project delivery, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder and client management experience.
  • Good commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and change control.
  • Confident communicator and team leader, capable of managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver to deadlines.
