Location: Various Locations Available / Hybrid / Guildford, Leeds, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester
Salary: £40,000 -£48,000 dependent upon experience plus package including:25 days annual leave, healthcare cash plan, enhanced stakeholder pension scheme and life insurance
Summary
An independent, focused Environmental consultancy is looking to take on a Project Manager to lead and manage a project team or site team to ensure projects are delivered in a safe manner; to time; to a high quality that meets client expectations; and cost effectively in order to maximise project profitability.
As a Project Manager, you will deliver a wide variety of specialist ecological contracting projects, including habitat creation and maintenance.
Leading projects all the way from initial pricing and estimating through delivery to post-completion review you will delivering projects safely, profitably and on time whilst meeting client expectations will be second nature to you.

Projects have included: construction of artificial badger setts, water vole ditches, bird and bat boxes, herptile hibernacula, ponds, wetland habitat areas, mixed habitat over extensive areas, grasslands and meadows.
They also also carry out countryside management and soft landscaping including tree and shrub planting.
Seeking project managers that have:
- Worked within ecological consultancies specialist contracting organisations and / or large infrastructure companies in the construction sector.
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject i.e. Project Management, Construction, Habitat management, Environmental Science.
- Have a passion for conservation and ideally will already possess an understanding of relevant environmental legislation, safety management and compliance standards but not essential.
- Be living in the UK with the right to work.
- Must have a Full UK Driving Licence and ownership / use of your own car.
As Project Manager you are responsible for the following:
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed to prevent the risk of accidents on the project.
- Deliver projects on time and to a high standard meeting client expectation.
- Manage project budgets, understanding and making use of key commercial levers.
- Agree timescales, costs and resources and develop detailed plans for project delivery.
- Maximise project profitability through cost saving initiatives, effective procurement and process efficiencies.
- Proactively identify, raise and mitigate delivery and commercial risks and resolve issues and delays
- Ensuring projects are properly resourced and maintain an effective working relationship with our delivery teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure the project team is fully engaged, informed and resourced to deliver your projects safely and effectively.
- Report regularly on progress to the client and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients to maximise work winning opportunities for the team.
- Understand, communicate and deliver contractual obligations and scope of work.
- Maintain accurate revenue forecasts for all projects and invoice to agreed schedules.
- Carry out project reviews to identify lessons learnt and feedback.
- Estimating and writing bids for tender
