You will be supporting a range of high-profile projects, including new build, operational support, and decommissioning activities across the UK nuclear sector. Package offered for this Nuclear Safety Case Author role:
- Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 upwards depending on experience
- Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 7.5% company pension contribution, private healthcare and bonus scheme.
Key responsibilities for this Nuclear Safety Case Author role:
- Develop and author high-quality nuclear safety case documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Support hazard identification and safety assessment activities, including ALARP justifications and fault studies
- Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and regulators to gather evidence and present clear, defensible safety arguments
- Provide technical input to design, operations, decommissioning or new build projects within the nuclear sector
- Maintain and update safety cases throughout the facility lifecycle, from design through to decommissioning
Experience required for this Nuclear Safety Case Author role:
- Proven experience in authoring or contributing to nuclear safety cases within the civil or defence nuclear industry
- Strong knowledge of UK nuclear regulations and standards (ONR, EA, IAEA)
- Background in safety assessment techniques such as HAZOP, FMEA, PSA, or deterministic safety analysis
- Degree (or equivalent) in engineering, physics, or related discipline
