MEP Lead - Data Centres

Job Overview
We’re looking for a senior technical leader with deep expertise in data centre delivery to join a high-performing team operating across Europe. This role will be pivotal in leading multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering teams on data centre projects across both Hyperscale and Colocation, as well as Enterprise environments.

You’ll act as the key point of contact for a major client, overseeing project delivery, ensuring commercial compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence. The position offers the opportunity to shape a high-impact portfolio while contributing to the growth of a specialist data centre division.

Location:
Flexible across the UK and Ireland, ideally near key operational hubs such as London, Dublin, or Manchester. Occasional travel across the UK&I and Europe is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex data centre projects across Europe from a technical, commercial, and strategic standpoint.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for client interactions and internal team coordination.

  • Oversee commercial performance, manage risk, and ensure compliance with internal governance processes.

  • Coordinate bids, manage external suppliers, and ensure cross-discipline collaboration.

  • Chair strategic meetings, drive financial reviews, and present key metrics to senior leadership.

  • Ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery across all project outputs.

  • Proactively manage resource planning, technical challenges, and delivery milestones.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with a strong background in data centre design and delivery.

  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams across MEP, Architectural, Civil/Structural scopes.

  • Proven commercial acumen with a track record of managing risk, budgets, and project governance.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing at a senior (Director) level.

  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK & Europe.

  • Confident using platforms such as Revit, Microsoft Office, and collaborative digital tools.

  • Strong understanding of building systems, regulatory frameworks, and design workflows.

  • Full driving licence preferred.
